Porcellio scaber "Koi" Isopod Care Guide

Porcellio scaber "Koi" is a vibrant morph of Porcellio scaber, known for its striking orange, white, and black mottled patterns. It is hardy, fast-breeding, and a fantastic choice for both beginners and collectors wanting a colorful display species.

Enclosure:
Provide a well-ventilated container with a substrate of flake soil, sphagnum moss, and plenty of leaf litter. Include cork bark and bark pieces for hiding and surface activity. This species enjoys plenty of space to forage and explore.

Temperature & Humidity:
Maintain temperatures between 70-78°F. "Koi" prefers moderate humidity (60-70%) with a moisture gradient—keep one side moist and one side drier to allow self-regulation. Good airflow helps prevent excess moisture buildup.

Feeding:
Feed a base of decaying leaf litter and soft hardwoods. Supplement with isopod diet, fish flakes, shrimp pellets, and fresh vegetables or fruit. Protein helps enhance coloration and promotes fast breeding.

Behavior:
"Koi" isopods are very active and breed quickly. They tolerate a wide range of conditions and are an excellent choice for bioactive enclosures or as a visually striking display species. Great for beginners and advanced keepers alike!
