Troglodillo sp. Green Spot Isopod Care Guide

Troglodillo sp. Green Spot isopods are a fascinating and hardy species ideal for bioactive setups or dedicated display colonies. These isopods thrive in a habitat that mimics their natural cave-like environment: cool, dark, and humid.

Enclosure:
Provide a well-ventilated container with a secure lid. A substrate mix of flake soil, sphagnum moss, and leaf litter works well, with plenty of bark and cork flats for hides. These isopods appreciate deep substrate to burrow and maintain humidity.

Temperature & Humidity:
Keep temperatures between 68-75°F. They prefer high humidity, ideally 80-90%, with a moisture gradient (one side wetter, one side drier). Regular misting helps maintain proper humidity levels.

Feeding:
Offer a varied diet of decaying leaf litter, soft woods, fish flakes, high-quality isopod or reptile diet, and occasional fruits or vegetables. Always remove uneaten fresh food to prevent mold.

Behavior:
Green Spots are slow-growing and somewhat reclusive, often burrowing or hiding under cover. Patience is key, but with proper care, they will thrive and reproduce steadily.
