Porcellio werneri, known as "Greek Shield," is a stunning isopod species named for its distinctive shield-like shape and bold patterns. It is a moderately hardy display species that does well in well-ventilated enclosures with proper care.

Enclosure:
Provide a well-ventilated container with a spacious substrate of flake soil, sphagnum moss, and plenty of leaf litter. Include cork bark, stacked bark, and rocks for hiding and climbing. This species enjoys both surface activity and secure cover.

Temperature & Humidity:
Maintain temperatures between 72-78°F. "Greek Shield" prefers moderate humidity (65-75%) with a clear moisture gradient—keep one side moist and the other slightly drier. Adequate airflow is important for this species.
